FAQ

  • My son/daughter has never played lacrosse. Can they participate?

Absolutely. We welcome new players and players at all skill levels.

  • What do the Fees cover?

Brookline Recreation sets the registration fee. This fee covers paying the referees, equipment expenses such as balls, goals, goalie equipment, etc, our year-end celebration for parents/players, some paid coaching staff, program administration costs, and various regional league expenses. For the girls program, this cost also includes the required player membership registration fees for our league, the Founders Girls Lacrosse League (FGLL). For the boys program, there is a separate fee that is paid to MYL.

  • What equipment do I need?

You can find the details about the required equipment on ‘Equipment’ tabs on respective the boys and girls sections of our site. Players are required to bring their own equipment although we have a small amount of used gear to borrow when starting. Please contact the directors for more information.

  • Are scholarships available?

Yes, scholarship opportunities are available for our Pre-K/K programs and Classic programs. Please contact either Brookline Rec directly or the respective Boys and Girls directors.

  • Can I volunteer as a Coach?

We are always looking for dedicated parent coaches to assist with our programs. Please visit the ‘COACHES’ tab for more information.

  • I missed the January registration deadline. Can my child still participate?

Our Pre-K/K program are open until the start of the season. We close registration for our Classic programs in mid-January because our leagues require us to register teams in mid-January. Players who miss the deadline can remain on the waiting list.
